We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday and looking forward to seeing you on Monday 8th April.

Snowdon

7th July 2018

Mrs Donna Walker (our Finance Officer) and 2 friends (Zainab and Sharon) decided that they wanted to go on an adventure and raise some money for charity at the same time.

Here is the story from Mrs Walker:

"We decided that we would ride Velocity 2 which is the largest and fastest zip wire in Europe and then climb Mount Snowdon. The charity we chose was Gloucester Feed The Hungry, a small local charity dedicated to helping the homeless and needy within our community.
The zip wire was an amazing experience - we travelled at great speed whilst lying in a harness, reaching 60mph in 7 seconds and travelling 1555m in under 1 minute.
The next day we woke at 5am to start our climb of Snowdon, due to the very warm weather we wanted to be on our descent by 12 noon. From base to summit took us 3 1/2 hrs, we were scrambling across rocks and up steep inclines safe in the knowledge that we were going to have to negotiate the same obstacles on our descent. The entire climb took 5 1/2 hours which were very pleased with. Even more amazing is the fact that we raised over £500 for this worthy cause".

Well done from all at Calton Primary School.
