Gloucester Feed The Hungry

11th January 2019

Calton Primary School Parliament has nominated Gloucester Feed The Hungry (GFTH) as one of the school chosen charities this year.

GFTH are a group of volunteers from the local community that in their own time meet and tirelessly fundraise and organise this, they hold regular events at Kings Square in Gloucester and offer a hot meal and drink to the homeless and needy along with free haircuts, clothes and toiletries, simple things that really can and do make a difference. Their support is not just limited to the homeless but also to anyone that is need of support from them.

We were very fortunate to have raised £129.00 during December for this great cause. Hash (the founder of Gloucester Feed The Hungry) came into school to collect the cheque and to talk to some of our Year 3 children about the importance of the work that the team do. He also explained that this money would help to cover the cost of feeding over 150 people at future events which is truly fantastic.

Thank you to all that donated.
