Thursday 9th November

Calton hosted St Peters in our next league game and welcomed back Mr Dowling. We had not played for 3 weeks, but were keen to build on previous positive displays. Calton started well and attacked at will, attack after attack. Ryan and Adam were linking well down the left hand side. Although we had the lions share of the possession, Calton couldn’t find the finish. We were confident, even our defenders went on the attack, but this caught us out midway through the half as Calton were caught short of defenders at the back and St Peters attacked in numbers and scored a good goal as it was fired into the top corner, giving Jaydan no chance.

At half time Calton were told to ensure they all supported each other and remembered their defending duties, which they duly did. Again Calton attacked and attacked and defended better with Huey and Jaiden marshalling things at the back. But they couldn’t find that equalizer, Jay went agonizingly close in the final minute but found their keeper on top form.

Final score 0:1

Calton hosted Abbeymead in their next league fixture and were looking to bounce back with a win. We knew how good Abbeymead were and looked to stop them attacking by closing them down early. It was a fairly even first half with both teams have half chances, unfortunately Abbeymead had a bit of good fortune and took the lead.

The boys were told to continue pressing and work for each other, however Abbeymead pressure took its toll and in the wet conditions the ball fell for them and they took their chances well.

Calton were awarded a penalty towards the end of the game, unfortunately it was hit wide.

We move onto our next game with work to do.

Final Score 0:5
