GPSFA 7-a-side tournament. Boys Football

Thursday 14th September

Calton hosted the first round of a round robin 7-a-side tournament, where Heron, Linden, Finlay and St Peters primary schools came to Calton to play each other.

It was a good way to start the season, as Calton played four matches and those playing were able to stake a claim for a starting spot for the league fixtures and it gave Mr Coughlin a chance to see all their football abilities.

All games involving the schools were very close, only a few goals separated the teams in most of the games. Calton did really well and out of the four games played, we won two and lost two. Scoring some excellently worked goals in the process which was pleasing to see.

Calton finished 3rd in the group and unfortunately just missed out on going through to the next round, but it was a very positive and encouraging start to the season.
