Calton visited St Peters in their penultimate league game and looked to continue to build upon the impressive display from their last game.

Calton were looking to win this game having been unlucky to draw last time these two teams played.

This was a highly entertaining game, with both teams attacking when possible. Calton were playing the ball on the floor and looking to exploit the space behind the defence.

Calton took a deserved lead with a calm finish by Barnaby, St Peters continued to attack, however Calton were able to stay strong at the back and defended well.

After half time, Calton looked to build upon the impressive work in the first half, however St Peters capitalised on a mistake and scored a well-deserved equaliser. This spurned Calton on and they looked to find another goal, which dually came with a good finish by Ryan. He then followed that with a great top corner goal after good team play and a killer through back which split the defence. Calton were looking comfortable but still looked for another goal, which came as Ryan scored again with an impressive top corner finish to complete a hat trick.

Brayden then got a fifth goal for Calton with another well taken goal, after some great team work.

Calton deservedly came out winners and are now starting to build upon previous good performances and everyone is working well together.

We move on to our last game in the league against Robsinwood.

Final score 5:1

Calton visited Robinswood in their final league game looking to finish off with another impressive performance.

They certainly didn’t disappoint. The boys passed and moved the ball very well and pressured Robinswood for most of the game. Lots of chances were created and the team worked for each other trying to find a deserved goal. At half time Robinswood were winning 1 – 0 as they capitalised on a mix up in defence, however Calton kept them quiet for most of the game.

During the second half Calton hit the post/bar twice, with Brayden also going close. Calton thought they had scored but the keeper managed to stop it on the line. This was another impressive performance which Calton deserved more from, even Robinswood’s teacher and watching parents agreed. What is pleasing to see is the passing, moving and communication and this bodes well for the upcoming 5 a side and cup games. Well done to all.

Final score: 1:0 to Robinswood.
